American Seafoods is tremendously thankful for the Eastern Aleutian Tribes, Iliuliuk Family and Health Services, and all those in Unalaska who made it possible to vaccinate our crew members from the COVID-19 virus this spring.

These vaccinations are essential to the health and well being of our crews, who were among 1,800 people welcomed to a vaccination clinic in Unalaska led by the Alaska COVID-19 Unified Command. This initiative will make a huge difference to all who live and work in the region.

“I can’t overstate how grateful we are for these vaccinations and all who made this clinic possible,” said Mikel Durham, American Seafoods CEO. “These local partnerships have always been essential to the fishing industry. We applaud the efforts to help protect more people from COVID-19 and help ensure the continuity of America’s food supply.”

According to KUCB, the effort was part of a federal vaccine program that supports community health centers. The Eastern Aleutian Tribe helped vaccinate several communities in the Aleutian and Alaska Peninsula regions.

This vaccination effort couldn’t have been achieved without our strong partnership,” said Paul Mueller, Eastern Aleutian Tribes CEO. “I appreciate everyone at American Seafoods for the partnership and getting their team members to roll up their sleeves.”
